I have lived in Del Webb here in Huntley for 7 years. This past year, my children moved close by. My daughter Julie and husband Scott Szczepanek and their two girls, Kyra and Kenzie, moved back to the USA after living and working in London for six years. They moved to a house in Elmhurst last August, and continue their jobs in the USA now. Last year my son Doug Shepherd and wife Ruthie moved close by in Baraboo, WI., with their three children Gabe, Luke, and Emily.
In December they welcomed their 4th child Max!
In my younger years I taught school in Arlington Heights at Greenbrier School, third grade, and retired to have my first child in 1972. Later on, after the children were older, I worked as a substitute for several school districts including district 25.
I enjoyed traveling in Europe and the United States during my 22 years married to Ken Shepherd. In recent years I traveled to London at least once a year, and to Anchorage, Alaska, Spokane, WA, to visit my children and see the sights in those locations. Now , I enjoy visiting my grandchildren more than anything!
