After graduation I went to Upper Iowa University (major- Biology) and then transferred to University of Wisconsin, Madison and left after finishing my junior year (dumb!!)to marry the man I loved (not dumb). Bill and I married in 1963 and lived in Belvidere, Illinois; Marion, Illinois; Mt. Prospect; and Hoffman Estates before leaving Illinois for the San Francisco Bay Area and are still living in our home in Saratoga (near San Jose, in the middle of Silicon Valley) since 1971. After our 2 daughters were close to their teens I went to the University of San Francisco and got a degree in business in 1984--yea, team! I started a small business dealing with employee benefits and later really switched gears by starting my own interior design business. I am presently a buyer/merchandise manager for a retail store. I guess I am still trying to figure what to do when I grow up!
Bill was a pilot with United Airlines and we have had a great life filled with travel all over the world---from the Galapagos Islands to New Zealand to Egypt to Brazil. We have really enjoyed traveling and feel it has been an education in itself.
My passion in recent years has been barbershop singing with a large, competitive Sweet Adeline chorus. We have competed Internationally and came in 5th in the world several years back. It has been challenging and fun. The interesting thing is that I didn't have the nerve to try out for any of Arlington's choruses. I missed so much but I was too shy and intimidated.
Bill and I have loved California and all it has to offer and really enjoy our 2nd home in the Northern California mountains in the summertime. Life is good, we are both healthy, but we are getting old way too fast. I am so happy to have had a stable Midwestern childhood and remember my years growing up in Mt. Prospect and going to Arlington High as some of the best of my life. It is surprising how many of my classmates I remember. It will be so much fun to see many of you again.
