Living in Palatine for 34 years with my wife Helen (Beb) of 45 years. My son Brett & wife Carolyn live in Aurora with their son Justin 9 and daughter Megan 7. Brett is Exec VP and CFO for Abercrombie & Kent in Oak Brook. Both kids involved in soccer, basketball, baseball & softball and distance running. Justin ran a 10K in October in 53 minutes and Megan ran it in 75 minutes. First 10K they ever ran.
My daughter Brenda, her husband Jim Schwantz, daughter Ashlynne 15 and son Austin 11 live right across the street from us. Jim played in the NFL for 7 years for the bears, Dallas & the Niners. Super bown ring with Dallas and Pro Bowl the next year. Finished career back with the bears. He is now the Mayor of Palatine beating out a 20 year incumbant. Sales manager for Von Sydow's moving and storage and also does the Bears pregame & poatgame shows on WBBM radio. Ashlynne plays volleyball and softball at Fremd. She just made Varsity softball as a freshman pitcher & is an A student. Austin is in 5th grade, honors student, and an active soccor, basketball and baseball player. Will probably play football next year. He is probably going to be bigger than his dad as he already wears a size 9 shoe.
Beb still substitute teaches regularly at several local grade schools. I've been working for the past 8 years for a local Jeweler in a 2nd career. Great fun, close to home and a great boss. Didn't know I had stress until I didn't. We spend a lot of time attending the grand kids sporting events which can be difficult to do as there are often conflicts. Doing well health wise and look forward to the reunion in September.
