Today's Featured Biography
Julius Brown
After High School, I took a year off to work. Needless to say I missed school and I went to UD in 1999. I graduated from UD in 2004 with a degree in Instrumental Music Education.
Today I am the Director of Bands at A.I. duPont Middle School. I also play in a professional Funk/R&B/Blues/Jazz/Rock cover band called "Big Package". We generally play around 4-6 times a month in Philly, Reading, Chesapeake City. Our favorite place to play is Warmdaddy's in Philadelphia ... Alicia Keys, Nora Jones and B.B. King have played there!
I am very fortunate to be teaching and inspiring children to love and play music for the rest of their lives. I am so proud of my students! I also feel very lucky when I get paid well to lay down the funk!
Besides teaching/playing/composing and recording music I go to the gym no less the 4 times a week, hit up the bars in Trolley Square (I'm a half a block from Scratch's and Kelly's), listen to NPR,watch my 76ers and Eagles.
My profile wouldn't be complete if I didn't omplain about the greedy, manipulative conservative assholes in political power.
