Byron Spradlin
Byron Spradlin is president of one of the world’s leading creative Christian mission agencies, Artists in Christian Testimony Intl; where he guides over 250 artistic and creative ministry and mission efforts touching more than twenty countries.
He’s been guiding worship and evangelism ministry in the local church and with para-church ministries since 1968. Spradlin has two married children, three grand children and lives with his wife in Franklin, TN, USA.
Spradlin’s been in music since he was eight years old (piano, french horn, banjo & guitar). He attended Harry Ells High School’s last graduating class in Richmond, CA. Then went on to the University of California at Davis where he received his Bachelor’s degree in International Relations while also studying Music Theory under contemporary classical composer, Richard Swift. He also graduated from Western Seminary with a Master of Divinity and a Master of Church Music; from Liberty University with a Doctorate of Ministry in Worship Studies; and did the class work for the Master of Theology degree at Fuller Theological Seminary. This blend of cross-cultural, theological, music and arts education allows him to teach about worship and the arts as an artist, pastor, theologian and missiologist.
His life mission is to mobilize and equip people from arts backgrounds, seeing them worked into the fabric of church, mission and marketplace ministry around the world.
Spradlin was also a recording artist in the early West Coast Christian Music scene (recording on Light Label, distributed by Word Records), and was an international director for the Continental Singers. He led the Continentals through four continents. He has also been a guest speaker at national and international conferences around the world; including producing the worship for a number of the international events for the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization started by Billy Graham.
This international experience is reflected in Spradlin’s teaching related to understanding the roles of worship, artistic expressions, and cultural dynamics in the church and it’s world mission.
