	Shirley Lopez Rogers
	
 
 
		After graduation, I became the first "Ms. Pinole", 1964. Following a year and a half at Contra Costa College, I married and began to raise a family of four.  Today Jennifer is 44, Eric is 41, Christina is 37, and Suzanne is 32; I also have 7 beautiful granddaughters ranging in age from 3 to 14 years old, with number 8 due November 30, 2010.  My extended family also includes 3 son-in-laws Leonard, Erik, and William.  I'm proud to say that my parents were married for 63 1/2 years.  My precious father passed away July 29, 2009 at the age of 85.  My mom continues to live in Richmond.
 I moved out of the Bay area in 1973.  I became a professional singer in 1975, and I have had my own singing business since 1986.  I sing, play guitar, drums, and have written poetry since 1964.  I've performed many interesting places such as Folsom Prison, Santa Rita Rehabilitation Center, USO show on the U.S.S. Enterprise Naval Carrier Ship while at sea past the Golden Gate Bridge,  Republican Political Dinner/Dance at the Hilton, San Francisco City Hall political party, Congressman Pete Stark's birthday party at Centennial Hall, many military bases including a USO show at the Alameda Naval Station on the same billing board with Robert Stack, a former Navy retiree, many fraternal organizations, arts and craft fairs, County Fairs, parades, weddings, etc.
 
 I was the official National Anthem singer for 10 consecutive years at the 4 th of July festivities in my local community.  I also produced and performed 2 hour "Concerts in the Park" for 15 consecutive years, which included  my "Liberace entrances" singing on a horse for my Western concert, riding to the stage on different convertibles including a 1942 Packard for my Patriotic concert, and a 1959 Cadillac for my Big Band concert.  Sitting on a cart being pulled by a Shetland pony for my Spanish concert, riding tandum on a bicycle built for two for my Bi-Centennial concert, and as a passenger on a Harley for my 50's/60's concert.  2009 was my 9 th year to sing at the Alameda County Fair, and I performed with an 18 piece Big Band for 12 years. I also taught voice lessons for 4 years.
 
 I've had the privilege to be on the same billing board with Tony Dow from "Leave It To Beaver," Jon Provost from "Lassie," Jeremy Slate from "The Aquanauts," "The Four Inks Spots" singing group, Robert Goulet, singer/actor, Jill Whelen, the captain's daughter on "The Love Boat," and Robert Stack, actor from "Unsolved Mysteries," and "The Untouchables."  I also participated in four local stage productions.  I was a wife in the "King and I," a nun in "The Sound of Music," an extra in "Carnival," and I did a little tap dancing in "George "M."
 
 On my "Wall of Fame," I have also taken photos with Rosemary Clooney, singer/actress, Lionel Hampton Big Band leader, KC from "KC and the Sunshine Band," The "Blind Boys from Alabama" gospel group, basketball player Nate Thurman, and two local Assemblyman/woman Guy Houston, and Lynn Leach.
 
 Some of my hobbies are gardening, walking, biking, writing poetry, recycling, going to antique and junk stores, and spending quality time with my family and close friends.
 
 I'm a National News "Junkie," and love to keep up to date with........whatever.  My favorite TV stations are Fox News, and Nancy Grace with all the updates on crime.  I enjoy "Larry King Live" and CNN only if I like the guest or there is a nice documentary.  I also frequent the History and weather channels.
