Today's Featured Biography
Louise Thauberger Crooks
Another 5 years have passed since the last Class Reunion - so we are celebrating 45 years since those wonderful years at Harry Ells. I hope all of you have enjoyed a wonderful life with good memories with family and friends.
For a quick summary of what's been going on with the Crooks family... I met Doug in 1967 when he got into town after being stationed for a couple of years in the U.S. Army in Germany. My best friend, Margie Place, introduced us. We married a couple of years later. We moved to Fremont for 7 years where Doug worked in construction, but was studying to become a fireman.
Our two sons were born and Doug got hired on with the Albany Fire Department so we moved back to the Bay Area and settled in Hercules in 1977 and have lived in the same house since.
Our eldest son, Michael and his wife Alison, live in Pinole and we get to enjoy our two darling granddaughters and all their activities in soccer, swimming, dance, and drama. Gabrielle is 8 and Mara is 5. Our youngest son, Matt and his wife Angie, have one son, Dylan, who is 3-1/2 years old and another baby on the way (late December???)...
Life is good and we stay active. For vacations we get a chance to camp, go on golf tournament weekends, and take a cruise every few years. Next year we're celebrating our 40th anniversary with plans for a cruise to Alaska with friends.
I still country western line dance a couple of evenings every week (great exercise). We still belong to the Northern California Cruisers Car Club and have a 1939 Dodge 4-door sedan. Our car club has a great show every June in downtown Pinole displaying classic cars right on San Pablo Avenue and in Fernandez Park. It's a wonderful chance to enjoy looking at so many beautiful cars as well as a fundraiser for some great charities in the area.
I still enjoy my job as an Administrative Assistant just 3 miles from home - I really love the commute. I will soon celebrate my 21st year. Who knows, maybe I will make it to 25 years at this job...???
Doug retired 2 years ago and stays busy with all his hobbies. Both sons are firemen now. We are very proud that they followed in their dad's footsteps. And, we still deal with the fireman schedule - which makes it hard to get together with both sons and families at the same time...
The 40th Year Reunion was so much fun, I'm glad few classmates are returning to this reunion, hopefully everyone will be able to make it to the 50th, too! It's always good to see everyone and renew acquaintances from high school days and all the reunions we have had since. It's also fun to visit Classmates.com and check on everyone that way. A BIG Thank You to Sandi Dalen-Johnson for taking on a big job of organizing our last two reunions!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
