Today's Featured Biography
Marylin Wirth Borgquist
The old saying: "I retired and went to Heaven" is certainly the description of my currently life. I paid my "dues" with thirty years of teaching and commercial designing. All of it fun, exciting, challenging and the expression of a passion that began at the age of nine.
So, this very happily retired lady now spends her free time oil painting, traveling and dividing my time in Los Angeles and our home in Tucson, Arizona. I am married to a wonderful man, Arthhur Borgquist, award winning educator himself and Veteran's Advocate, speaker (keynote speaker at the Regan Library) real estate broker of California and Arizona.
I am indeed blessed and my daily motto is: "keep an attitude of gratitude". I use Mimi instead of Marilyn as my artist nme (Marilyn sounds a bit dated).
The following is part of the personal description I use for my websites" www.mimiwirth.com ad www.americanveteranpaintings.com. Thank you for checking out my sites... God Bless.
Mimi Wirth earned a BFA Degree from San Francisco Art Institute and has gone on to an illustrious and successful career as an artist, commercial artist and art educator.
Mimi has studied with the talents of Anne Manry Kenyon, Greeg Kreutz, Milt Kobaysahi, Frdrick Grue, Howard Terpning and David Leffel. Her special training in old master's painting techniques.
Mimi teaches art at all educational levels. Whether it be special invitational classes for elementary children, different art mediums on high school levels, classes for adults in stained glass, watercolors and etching she exhibits her amazing creativity and talent.
Her college teaching experience was dedicated to teaching art techniques to elementary school teachers. She was invited to teach etching in Japan as a California Good Will Ambassador. Her superior talent and outstanding teaching ability has brought her numerous awards including Southern California Teacher of the Year, Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year and California State Finalist.
Mimi's art career has also encompassed commercial illustration and package design including work for Pink Panther, Popeye and Elvis Presley Products.
Mimi's unique artist oil painting ability is twofold: she produces work using the old master's techniques and technique of painting for her work as she is equally comfortable painting her landscapes impressionistically. Her incredible style and talent is evident in all of her mediums of choice. Mimi's work is in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.
