Today's Featured Biography
Charles Alexander
Thanks for having me on your list. If you remember I joined the navy after my junior year. I did continue my education and received my diploma from YUHS later on. I spent 28 years in the Navy, Stationed 9 years in Japan, 3 years in Hawaii and the rest of the time was in San Diego. I married a home town girl, Mary Ann Stagner two years behind us. We stayed married for 27 years and then divorced. She is still in San Diego and I moved back to the desert. Mesquite is just like Yuma when we were in high school. Small and only one high school. While in the navy I was a rescue swimmer, saved 9 pilots during the Vietnam crisis. I also trained to help recover the apollo space craft when it returned to earth. Attaching the horse-collar around the craft to keep it from sinking. Too bad it was not my ship that was close or I would have been on national TV. Stationed on destroyers all of my at sea time. Shore time had me teaching electronics and I loved teaching. Quite the experience departing knowledge to other people.
I saw Mr. Drysdale at the 100 year reunion of YUHS and it was nice seeing one or two classmates and a coupe of friends that are still in Yuma. I did want to see Carolyn "Henry" Cain but no chanch, maybe when I come to the reunion. I see in the profiles we are both singls, Ha Ha. After all these years. Who would have thought we would still be alive. I am lucky, very lucky, I went in to have surgery for a trigger finger and ended up having a six way by pass heart surgery in 2007, January. Then in October it was discovered That I had cancer of a Tonsil, back in the hospital for kemo and radiation. March of 2008 back in the hospital for a radical neck dissection to remove all the scar tissue done by the radiation. The cancer was the roughest and am still recovering from that.
Happy New Year to everyone. I hope this next year will be better than the last one. A lot of people wer hurt by the down turn in the economy.A small up date on myself, I had cataract surgery performed on both eyes and no longer need to wear glasses. Oh, I still need a set of reading glasses around for the fine print. I am looking forward to seeing all our fellow classmates after all these years. The last time was at the 10 year reunion, party in somerton, Having the Platters sing at FRIT'z house behind Bayless market on 16th Street. Take care....Alex

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
