After leaving Bisbee and the comfort of my parents' love and security, I moved to Tucson and graduated from the U of A with a degree in secondary education,a major in English and minor in speech. Soon after receiving my degree, I was employed as a high school teacher in Glendale, Arizona. During my thirteen year teaching career, I got married to Mike Dugan and had a son, Joe. Mike passed away in 2013; Joe is a high school geometry teacher and track coach. In 1976 I began my post graduate studies and earned my Master's degree and administrative certificate. For the next seventeen years, I was given the opportunity to assume leadership roles as teacher trainer, assistant principal , principal and assistant superintendent in the Glendale Union High School District. I retired from the district after 30 years, but decided I still wasn't through working. I was appointed Deputy Superintendent at the Arizona Department of Education for eight years, and then later was appointed Chief of Staff at the Arizona Attorney General's Office. In 2015, I decided to finally hang it up- figured 42 years was long enough.
I am now retired, but working to learn new hobbies. Looking forward to seeing all of you and renewing friendships from 1968. Do you believe it's been 50 years?!!
