After graduating, moved to Buena Park, CA and worked at the Shasta Soda Co. loading semi trucks with pallets from 3 in the afternoon till 3 in the morning.
Joined the US Army in March of 1969 thru January 1972. Spent my whole tour in Germany and traveled all over Europe. Missed VietNam and looking back, I thank God for not sending me there. I worked on the staff for a 3 -Star General and was a Sergeant in charge of some of his activities and I would do it again!!
Came home and attended Pima Community College and worked in the mines in San Manuel AZ also mines in Park City,UT and Grants, NM. Was a cop for three years in Grants, NM after being laid off from the mines.
Came home to Tucson in the mid 80’s and joined my brother-in- law and his partner in starting up a company supplying equipment and technology for the Engraving and Etching industry. The company moved to Vista, CA and I spent 30 years providing Sales and Customer Service and teaching engraving and etching classes. Really enjoyed my time with this Company.
After retiring about two years ago, I was hired by Goodwill Industries as a cashier and really enjoy this job since I’m such a people person. My wife Stella has about two years till retirement and then we will take our turn seeing this great country of ours.
We have 4 daughters, Lisa(Steve) Globe, AZ; Katy(Joey) Vista, CA; Kacey(Joshua) Escondido, CA;and Ari( Seth) Tucson, AZ. We have 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren with a 6th on the way. I am very blessed, being around them keeps me young.
I still like being around hot rods, sold my ‘63 Chevy truck and looking for another project, keeps me busy and you meet the greatest guys also interested in hot rods. In California you see hot rods on the streets every day.
We thoroughly enjoy the beach and San Diego, America’s finest city.
Stella and I have been married 40 years, she’s a good hearted woman in love with a good timing man!!
