Today's Featured Biography

Phil Hutchinson
Many of you won't know who I am since I never attended H.H. Arnold. However, I went to Aukamm elementary and WAMS with so many of you that did go on to H.H. Arnold, I thought it would be fun to take part in this site.
After departing Wiesbaden in 1982, I attended high school in Bellevue, NE and then got my B.S. in computer science at Iowa State in 1991.
After getting my degree, I moved to Houston, Texas to work at Compaq. It took fourteen months to figure out that Houston and I were a lousy match. I hired on at Microsoft in Redmond, Washington in late 1992 and worked there until March 2006. I bounced around for a few years doing software contracting jobs here and there, and then went back to school full-time for a couple years to get an A.A.S. in electronics just for fun. For the last four years, I've been working at a small company called Sea-Bird Electronics, where I help build and test instruments used in oceanography studies.
Outside of work, I do lots of cycling and hiking. Have had to give up running for the most part, sadly, due to cranky legs.
I love the Northwest and can't see ever living anywhere else unless it's on a sailboat traveling the world.
Never did take time to get married and raise a family. I think those particular ships have sailed... :-)

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
