Barre Seguin
Here is my official military biography: Colonel Barre R. Seguin is a Special Assistant to the Commander, United States European Command (USEUCOM), and Supreme Allied Commander, Europe (SACEUR). He is responsible for a full range of high-level and Allied matters to include strategic transformation; nuclear policy, strategy, and stockpile requirements; the global war on terrorism; questions concerning the 92 countries in the USEUCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR); counter-proliferation; weapons of mass destruction; and theater missile defense. He is an advisor to the Commander on time-sensitive issues requiring personal action, USAF personnel moves, and general officer matters. Colonel Seguin’s duties also include correspondence, presentations, and letters for use in public forums to include Congress, NATO, and SHAPE.
Colonel Seguin was commissioned in 1988 as a distinguished graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps. He was the first-ever First Assignment Instructor Pilot to transition to an Air Liaison Officer assignment and follow-on to fly the F-16. Colonel Seguin was one of only two USAF operational F-16 instructor pilots qualified in the Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infra-Red for Night (LANTIRN) tactical employment system. He is a veteran of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, DELIBERATE GUARD, DELIBERATE FORGE and JOINT GUARDIAN. He is a distinguished graduate of Undergraduate Pilot Training, Pilot Instructor Training, Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals, F-16 RTU, Squadron Officer School, and Air Command and Staff College. Colonel Seguin is a combat mission commander with over 3,000 flying hours.
