Today's Featured Biography
Sue Smith O'Brien
After graduating from GW, my parents moved back to NY and nine days later I was off to school at UK (University of Kentucky). I graduated with a degree in Speech Pathology and in 1977 headed to the University of Kansas to get my master's degree in Audiology. I did, but about 3/4 of the way through I decided that I didn't want to be an audiologist. So I got an MBA and went into the wonderful world of banking. I ended up as a money market trader with a bank in Kansas City. When the bank was bought out I started east and worked in Philadelphia for a year before coming to NY City to become a broker. Eventually I landed at GE, in 1990, and I've worked in the Treasury Department since then. I started running when I moved to the City and that's where and when I met my husband. We knew eachother for 10 years before we started dating and we married in 1997. In between I ran countless races and 7 marathons. And just as many of you were sending your kids off to college, we started our family. We have 2 great kids, both adopted. Kevin is now 4 1/2 years old and Annie is 2 1/2months. We returned from our adoption trip from China the summer of 2002. We also have the greatest dog ever-Missy- our Golden Retriever. We live about 60 miles north of NY City and I work in Connecticut. Life is good. I'm hoping to download some pictures IF I can figure out how this all works. We will be moving to Apex, NC sometime in the spring.
