Today's Featured Biography
Priscilla Diehl Tentoni
After graduation from Carthage College in 1970, I worked as a 9th Grade Science teacher for the West Allis schools. In fact, Dr. Szudy is the person who hired me for my teaching job. I married in 1972 and my son, Christian, was born one week before the 10th reunion for our class. I have been divorced since 1984. I made a mid-life career change in 1981 and became a Technical Writer at Marquette Electronics, writing technical manuals for computer-based diagnostic cardiology devices. I wrote many books with interesting titles like "MAC 1600 Resting ECG Analysis System Field Service Manual". Marquette was acquired by General Electric in 1998 and I retired from GE Healthcare in 2008....more accurately stated, I escaped with my soul intact.
I still live in West Allis, pretty close to both the former and the current Central buildings. In fact, I have lived in just two places in my life...West Allis and Texas.
Travel has not been part of my life (unless you count business trips). My most interesting vacation was a 40-mile backpacking trek down the length of Isle Royale in Lake Superior. Now, I just take hikes in Whitnall Park.
If you want to hear an interesting story, find me at the reunion and ask me about the worst job I ever had. This story is not suitable for my written autobiography, but I love to tell it.
Retirement is filled with many activities involving my two lovely granddaughters (Grace & Claire), volunteering at my church, genealogy, yoga, knitting and (lately) working on the 50th reunion committee. If I knew retirement was this much fun, I would have done it when I was 25 years old. If I knew having grandchildren was this much fun, I would have had them first. And, yes.....I have turned into my mother!
