Michael and I have been together since 1971 -- we traveled in Europe for 2 years, 1973 - 1974, then lived in Melbourne for 5 years, completing further studies, married, and Emrys was born. I studied physiotherapy, Michael did more study and registered as a naturopath. We moved to Canberra in 1980 and have been here ever since -- Rose, Anna and Stefan were born here, at home.
We were founding parents and Michael a teacher at the Canberra Rudolf Steiner School, which now has classes from pre-school to year 12 with 650 students. For 14 years I was a full-time home maker, working from home as a child-birth educator for home-birthers. Then I worked at the Steiner School as a kindergarten teacher, business manager and educational administrator -- taking sabbatical leave after 10 years of full-time work.
We travelled to Stuttgart in Germany where I studied at the Seminary of The Christian Community, and was ordained as a priest here in Canberra in 2002; that's been my work since then. I travel around Australia as priests of The Christian Community are a rare breed in Australia, and I have a home with the small congregation here in Canberra, and have worked as school chaplain 2 days/week. I'd love to attend the reunion, but it's looking unlikely. In 1990 and again in 2007 I visited John and Myra Humphrey who were my host parents in Wisconsin; very sadly, Clare my host sister died suddenly in 1993. Much of the year I spent with you all is rather foggy in my memory -- but it certainly set a broad and exciting direction for my life.
