Today's Featured Biography
Steve Borg
Left Elma for Evergreen High School in Vancouver, WA. Graduated in 1988, spent a year driving around the country in an old VW Rabbit (visited 38 states), then off to college at Pacific Lutheran University (Tacoma, WA) for 3 degrees in Mathematics (BS), Philosophy (BA) and Economics (BA). ROTC paid for the whole thing, so after college I headed off to Georgia for more military training, and worked my up to Captain in the US Army as I was stationed in Germany. Left the military in 1998, but couldn't leave Europe just yet, so I hung out for a while. I finally got a job as a Mathematician working for the US Government, and took a posting at the HQ for the US Army European command in Stuttgart, Germany. After a few very exciting years, I left government service to write 2 technical books and start a consulting practice. While I did that I traveled extensively, visiting many countries and cities in Asia, Europe and North America. (Well, only visiting two countries in North America... :-)) That evolved into a consulting business which I sold in 2007. Meanwhile, I finally found the perfect woman for me (after 35 long years...), and married her. Lori (that's her name) and I got married in Seattle and sailed away from the wedding in the sailboat I proposed to her in. Now, we run Northwest Cadence, another growing high-tech consulting and training firm, and are raising Boston (our 15 month old son) while we wait for baby boy number 2 (arriving at the end of June!)
I currently live in Kirkland, WA, and love it! It's a great city, and one I've really grown to love. Of all the places I've lived in the world. This is my favorite. :-) Of course, much of that has to do, I'm sure, with the positive glow I get every time I see my lovely wife, and play with my charming son! :-D
