Today's Featured Biography
Derek Le Vie
Life after High School:
Entered the Air Force Jan 1989. Married Lisa (Pearl) Feb 1991, left for Iceland (3 days after our wedding), Lisa joined me in Iceland in July 1991.
From Iceland we moved to New Mexico (Holloman AFB 1993-1996). We had two children while stationed there, our first daughter May 1993 and our son Jun 1994.
After our tour at Holloman we went to Virginia (Ft Eustis 1996-2001). I spent 4 1/2 years as an Instructor at the USAF helicopter maintenance technical school. We had our second daughter Jan 1997.
Back to Iceland (2001-2003) this time with kids, we did a lot more exploring, walked on a glacier, hiked a lava tube, and saw so many water falls we got sick of seeing them.
In the states since June 2003 here in Tucson. No more addition in kids, we did pick up a dog though. Jan 2008 marked 19 yrs in the AF.
2009, back in Virginia. Still on active duty with the Air Force; working at Head Quarters Air Combat Command as the HH-60 Weapon System Team Superintendent. Handle all logistic and sustainment issues for AF rescue helicopters.
Retired from the Air Force Feb 2013. Hired by the US Army Aug 2013-2014, to teach CH-47 helicopter maintenance.
2014 added another son in December. Enjoying life as a stay at home Dad.
2025 Added homeschool parent to my resume.
