Today's Featured Biography
Tony Casamento
Although I never finished classwork enough to get me to graduation, I attended Jefferson. I began High School as a freshmen with all those who were to graduate "Class of 1977." At times, it seemed the 4 years would go on forever. The accumulation of all the days since then can make reminiscing back to things 25 + years ago a seemingly irrelevant prospect. We didn't have things as there are today which make keeping in touch as socially spontaneous as it were to be in the microsm of our respective elementary schools; on to a macrocosm of Jefferson H.S.
The scope of the world essentally revolved around who would be at which H.S. that we would be attending. Maintaining social intercourse with former peer groups we were in with at the schools we moved on from was not an easy thing to do, in some events. Granted, these days it's a given and could be as effortless as it was at arriving to school every day.
Some of us cut classes and gathered in groups where there seemed to be something in another level of consciousness in the pursuit of it. Hi
Peer groups were obviously everywhere. Speaking for myself, it was activity that was ridiculous at times and curious at others. This experience for me was another recognition of 2 seperate worlds, like seperate subjects, seperate teachers. In some places two teachers tried joining 2 classrooms together. What a hoot. Another new set of social circumstances. Sometimes I was still in my own world. Where was it going? Could I ever really find myself in it? I will try to share. I knew I would have to.
Meanwhile, who are some of the people in another world I had a curiousity to find? What if I could find myself in situations with Jefferson classmates that inspired me to speak in riddles and rhymes and guess where those things I'm was saying would be, in future songs played on the radio by other people who were in Rock bands?
There are some people who may remember I was like that. Then In 1999 I made contact with Tommy Shaw, of the band STYX and told him about such a notion. When I was at the 25th class reunion I mentioned my anticipating the next STYX Cd, so that I could see if there's any possible relativity to such a thing, on it. Check out their web page at STYXWORLD.com/ you can listen to some of it streaming, and read all the lyrics to the new CD CYCLORAMA. I could not be more pleased with what I have found. I anticipate the day I can introduce to Tommy those with whom I share that experience, demonstrating some precognition. He spontaneously logs onto the internet and enters a STYX friends chat room on AOL. E-mail me and I will tell you his Screen name.
