Today's Featured Biography
Richard Carlson
Howdy, y'all. Hard to decide where to start. I guess out of high school I went on a mission to Barcelona, Spain. It was beautiful. I fell in love with the culture, the people, and made many new friends. Looking back I would have to say it was a wonderfull two years. After my mission I came home and worked as a mason for a year or so. It was good, honest back breaking labor. I can honestly say I enjoyed it. Later I decided to become an electrician.(Better money and you actually get to think) I never did want a desk job. I like to be on my feet, see what is around me. I enjoy fresh air and the sleep that comes after a good days work.
I met my wife when she accidentally called me on the telephone. I know it sounds crazy and is, looking back at it all. There I was watching wrestling with Ryan Walter's little brother, Colten in a house we lived in together, and the phone rang. I never did like wrestling all that much and it was 12:00 at night so I answered the phone. My future wife and I talked for hours. I guess I knew then that she was the one. I had been praying for someone who would make me a better person and ease my broken heart. Shari has done that and more. Their are many things I could say about her, and probably will in the future. But for now I will simply say that she is my best friend and has no guile. She is as honest and loving as I am not. I have never heard her tell a lie. When I grow up I want to be like her.
In March of 2002, Moriah was born and in 2004, Emma followed. What could I say of my daughters? They are best friends and partners in crime. They enjoy sports and like to chase chickens and tease the Russion Red Boar(It's a big male pig). They are country girls, raised in the Hill country of Texas. My wife, Moriah and I moved down here after the 2002 olympics. There was a shortage of work for electricians and Texas had a lot of work. So down we came. I love it here. There is a harsh, rough beauty here that I have seen no where else. God really did bless Texas. Recently my wife and I decided to start our own electrical contracting company. I have my masters license now and it was just the next step. We are trying to keep the business small but it is difficult. I am so busy, my wife says she has had to wake me up from "sleep working". Like I said, there is a lot of work here in Texas.
Since leaving high school, I have been electrocuted, broke and dislocated both ankles, torn my knee to shreds(had a whole lot of sheet rock slide down on me), and broken my foot. Looks like the Lord will keep knocking me down till I learn kneel down on my own. Pride is a horrible vise.
I like to hunt, fish, and keep bees. For me, joy is found in the simple things in life. Like a hug from my wife and daughters after a long day, Fishing and wading up a river, seeing my wife and girls play together, and hearing their giggles. That is all I live for. That is my life and I have never been happier.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
