Today's Featured Biography
David Reagan
I attended the University of Texas at Austin where I majored in Government and History. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1959 and won a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship which I used to attend the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Boston.
Before departing for Boston in 1960, I married Elizabeth Granger (Waco High class of 1959). As of 2012 we have been married 52 years. We have two daughters, Ruth and Rachel, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Ann pursued degrees in Education while attending Baylor University, Austin College, Boston University and the University of Texas in Dallas. She earned her Master's degree at East Texas State University. She taught the first grade for 30 years before retiring.
I attended the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy from 1960 to 1963. This school is owned and operated jointly by Tufts and Harvard Universities. I earned two master's degrees and a doctorate in international law and politics.
In 1963 I accepted a teaching position in political science at Tarleton State College in Stephenville, Texas. The next year I moved to Austin College in Sherman, Texas where I remained the next ten years teaching government and serving as assistant to the president.
In 1973 I became president of South Texas Junior College in Houston. In 1975 I accepted a position with Pepperdine University in Los Angeles. I served as director of their center for international studies. I also served as assistant to the president. My last academic position was Vice President for Development at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma.
In 1980 I decided to give up my academic career and step out in faith to form a Bible prophecy ministry called Lamb & Lion Ministries. I have been the evangelist for that ministry ever since. The ministry is non-denominational in nature and is located near McKinney, Texas.
For many years we had two major forms of outreach: speaking at churches and producing a daily radio program In 2001 we decided to convert the 15 minute daily radio program into a 30 minute weekly television program called "Christ in Prophecy." It is broadcast over five national networks (DayStar, Inspiration, Church Channel, NRB and Golden Eagle) and is accessible to 70 million homes inside the United States. It is also broadcast internationally over a dozen satellites and is accessible in every country in the world.
The ministry also publishes a bi-monthly magazine called the Lamplighter. I have held Bible prophecy conferences all over the world, I have written ten books about prophecy, and I have led over 40 pilgrimages to Israel.
I praise God for putting a call on my life to serve Him. My greatest regret is that I resisted that call for 20 years.
I kept in touch with Waco over the years through my mom and dad and my in-laws. But my in-laws moved to Houston in the mid-1980's and my parents died in the late 1990's. I rarely get to Waco anymore.
I never attended any of our high school reunions until the 50th anniversary one. Ann and I both came to it, and we were blessed by the large turn out of people. My thanks go to all those who worked so hard to make that reunion such a great success.
