What fun we remember back to May 1960 and our graduation. Those of us left are fortunate to have our friendships this long.

Today's Featured Biography
Rachel Cavanaugh Ikenberry
After graduation I attended Trinity in San Antonio with Jane Bell and Donna Hufham. Following graduation from UT in 1964 with a BA in math and English I taught 8th grade math at Richardson Middle School. My cousin Connie and I took an eventful roadtrip to NYC the summer of '66 to see Donna and her husband Tom as well as all the historic sights along the way. On our return we arranged for a stop in Augusta, GA where Tom Flournoy planned a blind date for Connie with Larry Ikenberry. I danced the night away with both guys! And you know the rest of the story! After 3 dates, numerous phone calls, and tons of letters Larry and I were married the following February. Where have 48 years gone?! I lived a year with Larry's folks in Olympia, WA while he served in Vietnam. Upon his return home, we moved to Hartford, CT where he worked for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. Living in New England is like another world; we have fond memories of that time. In 1970 Larry had an offer to work as a health physicist for the State of Washington so we moved back to Olympia. That year we bought our first home, I got my piano, and we both became true followers of Jesus Christ....what a turning point in our marriage. In 1976 we each decided to quit our "regular" jobs and open a photography studio. Larry had opportunities for exotic adventures including a month in Israel as the photographer for an archaeological dig near the Dead Sea and another month in Africa on safari! But, fourteen years of high school seniors, weddings, families, and commercial work left us exhausted and in need of change. We sold our successful business and settled into relaxation, finding our life priorities, and seeking God's purpose for the rest of our days. Our future held so many more thrills! We are crazy about saving and avoiding debt so it's been rewarding to share with many others the Biblical financial principles of stewardship. Larry's background in biophysics led him to learn the truth about science as related to Creation and that led us to pursue Biblical apologetics and leadership of the Truth Project from Focus on the Family for our church. Larry is my Renaissance man: he's climbed almost all the northwest volcanoes; he loves classical music, dabbles in watercolor, is a private pilot, an avid reader and has published 4 books with 2 more in progress! Meanwhile I just try to keep up and stay packed! We've become avid cruisers, usually heading for warm waters in February. I love to cook, still sing a little, am an avid perennial gardener, and am passionate about Bible study. We are blessed to live on a hilltop overlooking acres of evergreen treetops and with magnifient views of Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens. We'd love to entertain you if you ever venture out to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Let's stay in touch!
February 4, 2017 will be our 50th!! YEAH!
We're heading for some sunny skies and blue waters of the Caribbean.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
