Today's Featured Biography
Terri Klotz Callahan
I married my husband, Rick Callahan more than 50 years ago while he was home on military leave with the US Air Force. Shortly after our wedding we spent the next three years at bases in Texas and Maryland where he finished his four years of active duty. We had opportunities to continue to live in Maryland after his tour ended, but decided to come back to Ohio to be near family.
We wanted to start a family right away and had our first daughter, Jenny in 1971 in Maryland and then returned to Ohio to have Angie in 1976, Susan in 1980 and Brian in 1983. Jenny now lives in Dundee, Angie in Jacksonville Beach, Susan in Toledo and Brian in Houston. We are also have three beautiful grandchildren, Cassidy now living in Columbus, starting her teaching career, Kendra in Spring Arbor University and Colton in Dundee Middle School.
During the early years of raising our children, I was a Girl Scout leader for 15 years and did several part time jobs, including hanging wallpaper for several builders where I could set my own hours. In 1984 I became employed as a postal clerk with the US postal service. Most of my years with the postal service I was employed at the Monclova Post Office where I retired after 24 years.
For the last 30 years we also have been involved with foreign exchange, hosting high school exchange students and blessing our family with an extended family of many children from around the world. We have stayed in touch with them and many have come back to visit us and we also have been fortunate enough to be able to travel abroad to many countries and visit them. This opportunity has truly enriched our lives. We continue to be involved with foreign exchange by being mentors to host families and students while they are here, welcoming new students every year.
During our retirement years we love to travel, visiting our children and grandchildren and our extended family from around the world. We also love going on cruises. We have truly been blessed.
