Greg Gaynor

After graduating from DHS, I attended San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, CA majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science. I continued my baseball career there as a pitcher. I returned to Toledo after graduation and the death of my father, to assist my mother. I attended the University of Toledo furthering my Computer Science education at CommTech and played a year for the Rocket baseball team.

I began my IT career as a Computer Operator at Dura Corporation where I worked with Barb Lockwood (DHS '68). We married in June 1974. I then worked as a Computer Programmer and Voice/Data Communications Specialist at First National Bank of Toledo until 1988. While at FNBT, we welcomed our two children, Megan in 1979 and Patrick in 1982. My next career move was to Dayton OH with NCR Corporation where I held a number of Data and Voice Communications positions.

I retired in 2006 and we moved to Middle TN, building on rural property purchased before retiring. Tennessee became our home because of our daughter's graduation from UT Knoxville and subsequent marriage to a fellow UT grad. They have honored Barb and I with three grandchildren ages 14, 10, and 7. Our son, a 2005 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, was just promoted to Lt. Colonel and is serving a three year stint at the Pentagon. He and his wife are the parents of two children ages 10 and 7.

These days, I play a lot of golf and am working on obtaining a private pilot's license. Barb recently retired from an accounting position with a local medical practice, so we're going to do some traveling around the country and enjoy some cruises.
