Today's Featured Biography
Ronda Leighty Franklin
I now have a full life with my husband, our girls and our pampered pup. I am still teaching @ SPHS, and the new school is amazing. I taught for 10 years teaching English 9, but now I am high school librarian. I finally finished my Master's degree +30 in 2007, and I don't plan on being a student any longer. I just don't have it in me any more. Besides, attending school for 29 years is plenty I think.
We live in SP and spend a great deal of time running to various sporting events. My oldest cheers (she is a HS cheerleader) and my youngest plays softball and soccer.
As a family we go camping often. I keep waiting for the kids to get "too cool" for camping, but so far they enjoy the trips. As for me, I can read, write or sit in the sun and there are no carpets to be cleaned, nor are there any dishes or laundry that needs immediate attention. Lazy is expected. There are so few times in our lives that lazy is OK.
I have taken up a hobby; I am writing fiction. I have joined a group and I am working on my first novel. They tell me everyone's first book is bad, so I'm sure mine will follow suit. I figure I have a few years to get good enought to get published. I'd like to do so before retirement. If not, I'll just use my old manuscripts to prop up the leg on my wobbly coffee table... or better yet, as a firestarter next winter. If I ever get published I'll be sure to let you know; you may need some kindling too .
I seems that in only three years we will be having our 20th. Where did all that time go? I remember that my parents were old @ 35, but I don't feel old. Even so, my kids say I am.
I don't know who is going to take the lead on a reunion, but I am in South Point, so if you need help just let me know.
