Today's Featured Biography
Renee Stella
After graduating ALHS, I went to the University of Toledo. The first year was quite a turbulent year - but one that I learned from and grew up in I guess. Looking back all I can do is shake my head and be glad that I survived. I know there has GOT to be many of you out there that can relate! Anyway, I majored in French and that's what my B.S. is in. I finished out my degree in Arcachon, France in the summer of 1993. I also met and eventually married my husband, who also attended U.T. Once I graduated, I followed him to Indianapolis, Indiana - where we have lived ever since. My folks sold their restaurant (you all remember "Stella's Italian Restaurant" I'm sure) -- so there was no taking over the 'family business', thank God. :)
I've had a variety of jobs since moving to Indy and all seemed to pull me towards the IT field. The only company I worked for that I was able to use my "French skills" was a sports marketing company that was in charge of marketing an Indy car team (yeah, that was a VERY cool job). The owner was Belgian...so I did get to converse with him in French - even travelled to Belgium once on a business trip. Unfortunately they went out of business. I'm now working for the State government in the Dept. of Revenue in the I.T. Department as a Senior Systems Analyst. Talk about polar opposites - but it pays the bills.
We have two children that absolutely light up my life - Seleena, now 6 and Zack almost 3.
