Sarah Carey Panciera

After graduating Lourdes, I went on to Dutchess Community College for two years (along with a lot of other Lourdes classmates...It was just like a continuation of high school). I then transferred to Houghton College and graduated with a BS degree in Accounting. After graduating college, my college roommate & I thought it would be fun to move to the Washington, DC area. (Not so fun when you're working all the time.) I got a job as a tax consultant for Deloitte & Touche in DC and worked there for a few years. After growing tired of the hours, I got a job in private industry working as a corporate tax accountant in Charlotte, NC. This allowed me the time to travel & do a lot of other fulfilling things. I traveled to Ecuador, Belize and Spain and worked with local ministries there helping street children, working in orphanages, etc. I would love to do more trips. I also worked with a local outreach to the Hispanic Community in Charlotte. I did travel to Europe some for leisure but I prefer the outreach trips.

Four years ago, I met my then future husband, Robert, through mutual friends four days after he returned from living in Bolivia for a few months. We married April 2006 (Finally!). It was definitely worth the wait. I am so blessed to have met & married my best friend. I can honestly say that we have a wonderful & fun life together in Charlotte. We have 3 fur babies for now but hope to have a family in the future.

I have worked with my company for 13 years. Recently, the company declared Chapter 11 & I decided that it is time for a career change. I resigned from my job in August but they asked me to stay on until our head quarters moves to Mississippi. I am working on a contract basis for a few months & hopefully, I can make a career jump soon.

So that's my life right now. I am hoping that our class will start connecting as our 20th reunion is coming up. I have lost contact with just about everyone. (Lots of my close friends said they'd never go to our reunions...you know who you are...hopefully, you will have a change of heart because I miss you all).
