Today's Featured Biography
Steven Clark
After graduation, I made the most of my time with friends until leaving for college. Since I am very artistic, yet right-brained and scientific, I pursued a degree in Architecture and Design at the University of Colorado at Boulder. This was a great experience, and I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Design.
After college I went where all creative people go to “get discovered” – California. I moved to the Bay Area / San Francisco area, where I freelanced and worked in the pre-press and printing industry. This enabled me to master Graphic Design, where I then worked in the Marketing department for a prominent high-tech firm.
It was in California that I met my future wife, Karen. Believe it or not, we met through a video dating service! Turns out we both were tired of trying to meet people in all the usual locations: clubs, church, blind dates, friends, etc. So consider this a testimonial/success story for “Great Expectations”.
Karen is a San Jose native, and it was great getting to know her and absorbing the California culture. However, after we were married and considering future plans including a family, it seemed that the harsh economy did not accommodate the type of traditional lifestyle we wanted to pursue.
Since she has relatives in the Seattle area, it inspired us to eventually make the big leap to move to Washington State, where we have been happily calling home since 1997.
