Today's Featured Biography
Kimberly McFarland
I graduated in 92, but I should have graduated in 91. I managed to go to school to socialize and get strait 5's on my report card for the entire first 3 years I attended, (grades 9-11). Upon starting my 4th year at Bryan, the Principal recomended that I should drop out of high school and get a GED since I had attended bryan from 88-90 school years and still did not HAVE ONE SINGLE CREDIT. He felt that it would be the best thing to do. But, when I told my father my new education plans, my parents were divorced and I lived with my mom. She had no clue that I had strait 5's for 3 YEARs.
When I told my dad, he told the Principal that I would be attending the 91 school year and that I would receive a real diploma not a GED. I thought it was hopeless. I took a full 8 classes with no study hall both semesters, and night school EVERY SINGLE NIGHT of the week both semesters and after I completed all that I attended summer school for 3 credits, I didn't graduate that year in 91 with my class, but after passing all the classes in 91 and summer classes, I was able to attend Bryan High School the following year in 92. I took on the same class schedule as I did the previous year, for BOTH semesters and somehow ended up with 45 credits and I DID recieve a HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA. I even managed to LETTER IN MUSIC...LOL! Turns out I'm a freakin genius. Seriously, I wasn't stupid, I just never did my homework and some of my teachers had lost respect for me. It just goes to show you can never judge a book by its cover.
In the end I'm glad I didn't conform to their plans for me to DROP OUT of school and get that GED. I'm glad I did it and if there is anyone out there who THINKS they cant do it, U CAN DO IT! STAY IN SCHOOL.
I would like to thank all the teachers who believed in me and stood by me. Thanks to:
Dr. Naylon
Mrs. Wilson
Coach Tim Bond
Mrs.Moore
Mr. Cannon
MR. Renner
Mrs Cosgrove
Mr. Stanley Shmidtt
Mrs Mcdougal
MRs Barb Lebetz R.I.P
Dr. Gradoville RIP
And I saved the best for last, my Father, Arvid (aka butch McFarland). To this day he insists that I'm a genius! Thanks Dad. I love You! And if I'm forgetting anyone, Thanks for standing by me!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
