Debra Drakulich Stark
After high school I attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the University of Nebraska Medical Center for five years.
I received an Associate of Science in Nursing in 1975 and a Bachelor of Nursing in 1977 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
After graduating from UNMC I moved to Boulder, Colorado. I met my husband during a ski trip to Steamboat Springs, CO. He was in dental school at the University of Minnesota at the time. I moved to MN and we were married in August of 1979.
We lived in Minneapolis for a few years and then moved to Morris, a small town in west central MN. We have one daughter who is 24 years old. She attended the college of St. Olaf and the University of Minnesota and has degrees in History and English. She lives in Minneapolis and we are busy planning her wedding that will take place in St. Paul, MN on June 7, 2008.
My husband and I live in the country, have 175 acres. Our home is on a 30 acre island (there is a driveway onto the island). I love the peace and quiet and being surrounded by nature.
I have worked as a nurse in a variety of settings over the past thirty years: largely teaching hospitals, small hospitals, taught nursing, developed and was the coordinator of a hospice program, developed and was the director of an assisted living program, worked in public health, home care.
I recently returned to school and received a Master of Science in Nursing, from the University of Phoenix, in 2005.
My husband has owned and operated the Morris Dental Clinic in Morris, MN for the past 25 years.
I resigned from my position in nursing recently and my husband has cut back on his work schedule so we can have more time to spend with family and travel. We both enjoy traveling and want to make some of those BIG trips on our list before time gets away from us.
