Are we really old enough to have a "personal biography" – wow. Well, let’s see... After Rose graduation, I worked my first of five summers at Greenville Rec & Parks, and then went on to UNC-Chapel Hill. Meredith Bullock was my roommate freshman year, so we have lots of memories from that experience... The following four years were a blur, but they were some of the best of my life. Chapel Hill is a remarkable place, and it was a dream come true for me to go to Carolina. I graduated in May 2001 and moved to Durham in August. I found a job working for a contract clinical research organization in Morrisville. I wouldn’t say I loved it, but it was a job and it paid the bills! I moved from Durham to Raleigh in 2004. I’ll never know how or why, but I ended up staying in the clinical research field through 2005, working at a few random companies in the RTP area. I was happy, but something was missing... Washington, DC was calling my name. I found a job, and in January 2006, my golden retriever, Davis, and I packed up and moved to Alexandria, VA. Just over a year ago, I switched jobs and am currently working at Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), a trade association in Washington that advocates for the biotech industry. Things are going really well! I absolutely love North Carolina, and I know I’ll be back someday – all of my family is there, and it’s where I grew up – so it will always be my home. For now, though, the DC area seems to be a good fit. If you’re ever nearby, please look me up!
