Johnny Stewart

Well, it looks like I will not be able to be at the reunion, so here is what I've been up to for the last 30 years. I joined the Army Dec. of 1976; I worked on Cobra helicopters for my 3 years I was in there. I was in Germany most of that time. This is where I made some friends from Minnesota. One of them had me write an old girl friend of his and we became instant penpals. To make a long story short, Judy and I met after I got out of the Army and married a year later. We have one daughter named Katie who is now 21 years old and is studying nursing. I went to Tech. school and attended Commerical heating and air school. I did work in a metal shop prior to that but just hated it. I now work as a Building Superintendant for the YMCA of Metropolitan Minneapolis for the last 24 years. I still love to fish for my hobby which includes ice fishing and also like just traveling to new places within the 5 state area. Judy and I still live in Elk River. My Dad passed away in 1987 and My Mom passed away in 1999. My wife's Mom and Dad and her brothers and sisters have become by second family. God has really blessed me in many ways. Well, that's me in a nutshell. I am sorry I cannot be at the reunion, but if you like, you can shoot me an email. Or if you are ever up this way just look me up. Thanks John.
Oh, by the way, I dropped the name Johnny when I went into the Army. I know when I get a call for Johnny it's someone from home that's looking for me. Ha.
Just wanted to update a little. My daughter Katie is winding up her studies and will getting her RN pin soon so which we are all very excited about that and even more exciting will she will be getting married on Aug. 22 this year. She has found a really nice guy to spend her life with, so if will not be long my wife and I will be empty nesters. Wahoo-party on! No really I will really miss her since she is my one and only but on the other hand she will only be living in the next town down the road about 10 miles so I was told I will see her plenty. Also I was bless this year with my job. The YMCA who I had work for now for about 28 years has put up a brand new facility only about 4 miles from my house and put me in charge of it (scary) as far as all the facility maintenace goes. Which we have had a lot of HVAC issues here but that is another story for another time. So I will go for now we have had a ton of snow up here this year as well as a lot of flooding just north of Elk River. If any of you all get up this way just look me up I am in the phone book.
