Today's Featured Biography
Libby Long Beard
Well, after high school I attended East Central Jr. College where I met my husband of twenty eight and a half years, (I received my MRS degree there). We live in Weir, Mississippi, where my husband Glen served two terms as an alderman and one and a half terms as mayor. It is hard to believe that I was first lady of the town of Weir. That is a big joke with my family and I. He resigned during his second term due to health issues. He gave that up and kept the school stress, principal at Weir Attendance Center. We are one of eight attendance centers left in the state. We have two sons, Glen, Jr.(27)and Jonathan(19). Glen, Jr. married his high school sweetheart and they have blessed us with two grandsons Trace(3) and Luke(16 months). Glen, Jr. is a coach/teacher currently at Weir and working on his masters. He was at Ridgeland for a couple of years where he met our classmate Donna Clark who is teaching there. He and his family moved back home when a position opened. Our youngest son Jonathan, is still home or semi-home. He is attending college at Northeast Community College on a football scholarship. He is very small but can kick a football. He is majoring in girls, I think. He and big brother have made their way through school on football scholarships as well as other scholarships. I was a late bloomer and received my BS Degree from Mississippi University For Women in paralegal studies. I have worked in the law field in one capacity or another since high school and love it. I enjoy going to the sporting events that our boys or the high school participate in. We now can add the grandsons to that. The oldest, Trace, played WEE-Ball this summer and we enjoyed watching him. For those of you who do not have grandchildren they are GRAND. I hope to see you at the reunion.
