Today's Featured Biography
Jennifer Kincaid Harr
Okay, I first have to admit that I originally had no intention of creating a bio when I first logged on to the site, but after reading all the wonderful things the rest of you have shared, I now feel compelled to try. Here’s my attempt…
In 1990 I graduated from NWMSU with a B.S., majoring in finance. Mike & I were married right before I graduated & celebrated our 17th anniversary in January. I have spent the last 15 years trading commodity futures, commuting from Savannah to KC on a daily basis. Although I enjoy the day-to-day excitement the volatility of the commodity markets creates, I must admit that the commute is starting to take its toll. I’m scheming an “early retirement”, but neither Mike, nor my checkbook, have found the sensibility in this…at least not yet :(
Mike & I have been blessed with two wonderful, completely opposite daughters. Our oldest, Sydney, has just turned 16 & we are thankful for an additional chauffer in the family, despite higher insurance premiums! She will be a junior at SHS this fall & plays left field & pitches on the varsity softball team (yes…this will be our 3rd year for a women’s softball team…go Savages!). She is also a varsity basketball cheerleader & is on the competition cheerleading squad (yet another sport that’s been added since we left!). She is definitely the “social butterfly” of the family & professes to have more than 1,000 “really good friends” that she stays in contact with over Face book (for those of you with younger kids…just wait!).
Our youngest daughter, Carsyn will be in the 6th grade this fall & we are hopeful that her last year of middle school (8th grade) will find her at the "new SMS" that the community committed construction of. Like her sister, she too plays softball & is coming into her own as a pitcher. Carsyn, although perhaps our more sensitive daughter, has so much attitude on the outside you’d never guess what’s inside :) She is, however, very good about standing up for others, so I’m still hopeful we can channel all of that attitude & stubbornness to positive things (cross your fingers for us). After such an easy time (so far) with Sydney as a teenager, I can only imagine what lies ahead for us with Carsyn :)
Since the end of January, we have been living & breathing softball as both girls play on league/traveling teams, with Mike coaching the 12U team & assisting with the 16U team. We are so involved with softball, in fact, that Mike converted his shop behind our house to a softball batting cage, equipped with 3 pitching machines (keep in mind we only have TWO girls). Who would have guessed that I would become such a die-hard softball fanatic, after ending my own career at t-ball!
As I write this, we are still unsure if we will be able to attend the reunion as our 16U team is contemplating playing in the Show – Me Games in Columbia that weekend. If we aren’t able to make it, enjoy the weekend catching up & take care!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
