Today's Featured Biography
Evelyn Hall Schall
Attended Blenheim and four years (including 8th grade) of SEHS with the class of 1956, but was graduated in 1955.
Attended University of Missouri School of Mines & Metallurgy (MSM) for 3.5 years, majoring in physics; but, having married in January 1958, and expecting to produce our elder daughter during the upcoming final exams week, May 1959, chose to leave school when Chuck was graduated (BSEE) mid-term February 1959, and went to work for Boeing Military in Wichita KS. I eventually earned a BA in Physics from U of Wichita (1962), MS in Engineering Mechanics from Wichita State U (1974), and dropped out of school in 1976 (working on a doctorate in Aero Engineering - joint program WSU/KU) to run for/serve on Derby city council.
I started flying single-engine land planes in 1964 and earned an instrument rating in 1980. There was ample opportunity at Cessna to acquire free flying through service testing, airplane delivery, etc, 1976-1981. In 1979 I even got in a few static-line parachute jumps.
I worked for Boeing twice (for a total of just under 4 years), for Cessna Aircraft twice (for a total of 19 years), and for BDM International (9 years), retiring from Cessna in 2004. While with BDM I lived in Panama City FL and Albuquerque NM; but, was frequently on temporary assignment to Edwards Air Force Base, Los Angeles, Seattle, Pennsylvania, NY State, and the San Francisco Bay area. My field of work varied from aircraft structural dynamics to stress and fatigue to system engineering to flight test engineering to program management and the like.
Chuck and I met during a Morse code "conversation" (he is W0LTH, I am K0DEY) shortly before he transferred into MSM in 1956, and we were married 1958-1977, divorced, and married 1988-present.
With two daughters (one in NH, one in Wichita area), one granddaughter, and two great-grandsons (Wichita area), we enjoy family life. Living at the edge of town on a wooded creek, we enjoy nature's wild life.
Much of our time is spent in volunteer work with the American Red Cross - locally and on disaster assignments all across the nation. Chuck is a Disaster Relief Operation Director, when he goes out on assignment. My usual assignment is to coordinate Red Cross disaster relief activities with various levels of governmental agencies.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
