Today's Featured Biography
Midge Havstad Stapleton
I moved to San Francisco in 1965 - decided if I didn't want to live in Minneapolis weather my whole life, I'd better move on! Began in California with Blizzard Ski Club and started an amazing life here. Met my husband, John, while he was in the Coast Guard in SF, then added Jill and Sara to become a family.
My career life centered on sales. Mostly real estate sales, management, recruiting and training.
The true center of our life has been boating. We retired in 2000 (on April Fool's day, which seemed appropriate!) We now spend 4 months each summer cruising on our trawler in British Columbia. Winters in San Francisco Bay Area with time for some work, our daughters and just enjoying life.
My connection with Edina has been my family
My mom lived to be 100, she just died in 2009. My older sister, Judy Gyurci, is in Bloomington. Mary Jo, 2 years younger, is now in San Diego after decades in Long Island NY with her husband Doug Fisher. Nanci (Smaby) and Susan (Dean), have both remained in Minnepolis.
I've never had any contact with classmates since 1965 - and will be cruising during the July reunion. Hope to hear from any interested in reconnecting!
