Today's Featured Biography
Ursula Bezner Stehle
Thanks for your hard work trying to find me here in Southern Germany. As to up-date, I live in the village of Schlier, just 5 km out of Ravensburg from where I stared in 1956 to spend the Senior Year at the Edina Morningside High School. After high school graduation in Germany and a year of home economics at Lindau (Lake of Constance) I studied economics and business administration in the cities of Nuremberg and Cologne. Graduated ther in 1964.
My American host parents, Mr and Mrs. Hamilton came t see me in 1959. They got my mothers VW convertible and we 3 drove up to Norway to meet Rasmus Ringdal, who had stayed with them the year before me and had also been an AFS student and Senior at Edina.
In 1965, I got married to Wolfgaang Stehle whom I had known from high school. We have 3 boys. One married and we are expecting to become grandparents next February. One of the boys spent a year in Dallas and another one half a year at the Univeristy of Kingston in Toronto, Canada. The third one has been on business trips all over and expecially in the middle-west of the U.S. selling machinery to the bakery industry.
Before my husband retired last year, I accompanied him several times to the U.S. mostly the Boston area. He sold equipment for the recycling industry.
As to my spare time activities, had to quit skiing and other favorite sports but still go swimming and hiking in the nearby Alps. I am also very active in our Ravensburg Bridge Club. (my husband thinks too active) I love bridge tournaments.
