She earned her MBA in finance & marketing from NMU, & Doctorate in Public Amin.at Western Mich. Univ.
She is President & CEO of The Able Trust, a statewide foundation dedicated to creating opportunities for successful employment for people with disabilities.The foundation crated in 1990 by state leg. has served all 67 counties in FL with grant awards & extensive youth programs.
She has been CEO at Able trust since 2007. Previous experience includes executive management work with Nat. Alliance on Mental Illness , FL Hospices & Palliative Care org., Mich. Hospice & Palliative Care Org. & Mich. Health & Hospital Assoc. She has over 30 yrs. experience in statewide level health care & philanthropic org's.
She is active volunteer, supports several local charities. Appointed Chair of Governor's Commission on Jobs for people with Disabilities, is a trustee on the Board of FL Chamber Foundation, seves on Education Funders Affinity Group of FL Philanthropic Network, & performs in local bell choir. She grew up in a family that included a father, mother & brother with disabilities, has a nephew born deaf, stepson with serious mental illness.
She has chosen a career dedicated to helping people with challenges due to her experiences with the successful lives of her own family. Sue & husband Joe moved to FL from Mich. in 2001. They have 5 children in their blended family, & 13 super grandchildren.
