After finishing my freshman and sophomore years at Northern Michigan University, I moved to Los Angeles and enrolled at Cal State University, Los Angeles (then Cal State College), majoring in math and music. I spent most of my time in the music department, took time off for various purposes, finally graduated in 1974 (actually Dec 1973 but they only had one ceremony per year), with a BA in math.
Went to work as a payroll clerk plus job-cost accountant at a Los Angeles manufacturing company, met the father of my children. Quit after eight months, went to work for my father in his architectural office for several years. Gave birth to my older daughter Elaine, who spent her first year at the office (I believe in work experience), then moved to Morro Bay, CA with her father in 1977.
In 1978 my younger daughter Mary was born in our Morro Bay home, with the able assistance of two midwives. Terrific experience for us all. In 1981 I moved to Los Osos, CA with my daughters, and in 1985 we moved to San Luis Obispo, CA, where I have been ever since.
I worked as an engineering draftsperson, then as a drafting tech (starting in 1979) for the City of San Luis Obispo, moving up over the years to Associate Planner. Left City of SLO in 1998, worked that summer as a traveling clinician for Lindamood-Bell Learning Systems in New York. Got hired as a part-time planner on a temporary basis for the City of Atascadero (CA), took on a tech writing position for a manufacturing company in Paso Robles, CA, and finally went back to planning at the City of Pismo Beach, where I stayed six years, officially retiring in 2006.
I have taken my camera along on my journey but only recently have taken the time to learn more about photography than I learned as a teen in Marquette, where I often photographed players at basketball games (maybe some of you have some of these photos?). Hiking, photography, a little sewing, cooking, and cats are things I like.
Back in 1982 my daughter Elaine led our little family of three into vegetarianism for ethical reasons. We are all now vegans and still active to different degrees in animal rights and related activities. Yes, we vegans have barbecues, in case you wondered. And no, I didn't become thin as a result. We are who we are.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
