Today's Featured Biography
Kevin Murphy
In the summer of '65, following four years at UNH, I headed west to California. David Kennedy and I shared an apartment in Belmont Shore, a beach community that is part of Long Beach. We had visits from many "back east" friends during that time, most just passing through, a few that stayed on. I returned east myself in December '67 and began work with Sea-Land, a container shipping company based in New Jersey. I spent a little time in Philadephia and then four years in Manhattan working out of the World Trade center,
I married Gail Mulvihill in Worcester in 1970 and we returned permenently to Massachusetts in 1973. We have two children, Dan and Erin and two grandchildren, Olivia (6) and Christopher (4).
I retired in August 2009 and now get up 90 minutes later and avoid the Mass Pike completely. My only connection to Boston is the Globe. I keep busy by volunteering two days a week at the Urban Missionaries in Worcester, spending one day a week on the golf course and the rest of the time taking short trips with Gail, hiking in the Wachusett woods or playing with the grandkids. We are all healthy and grateful for that.
I look forward to seeing everyone at our 50th!! Unbeliveable.
