Today's Featured Biography

Alan Paulding

After high school I studied electrical drafting for a year at Franklin Institute in Boston. The summer of 1968 saw me enlist in the Navy and attend submarine school in Groton, CT., subsequently serving on 2 boats...#1...USS Henry L. Stimson SSBN655(a nuclear powered missle sub) and #2...the USS Grampus(a remnant of WWII). Karen and I got married while I was in the service.
Upon leaving the Navy I worked for a short time at Leyden Press, here in Plymouth and then at GIL-BERN Industries, in Plympton, before being hired by, what is now, NSTAR Electric Co. I worked there for 34 years starting in the stockroom and finishing as a lineman/crew leader.
Along the way Sara and Adam were born and now granddaughter Emily, Sara's daughter, is the 3rd generation of us.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you who have not been around since we graduated.
2015 update...Our granddaughter, a junior at Plymouth North H.S. and a member of the combined marching band applied to and got accepted into the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. She marched with the Macy's All-American Marching Band and had a great time. Unfortunately, she got no TV time but says she'll be going back again next year. She makes us all very proud...
