Today's Featured Biography
William Beer
After trying my luck in a couple different paths, I eventually settled into music, finishing (finally) a Bachelor of Music degree, vocal performance concentration from Western Connecticut State University in 2002. In 2004, I completed a Master's program at the prestigious College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, majoring in Choral Conducting. I have remained in the Cincinnati area, teaching classes at the College of Mount Saint Joseph and the University of Cincinnati, directing the music ministry at a local church, as well providing private studio lessons and performing other freelance musical work.
All these years since Drury have been very full and rewarding. Other than work, I served for 10 years in the Mass. Army National Guard, in the Adams Armory. And I took to travel, gaining an unbelievable perspective of the world and its cultures. I've travelled to 14 countries, and 34 states. Best trip, and most highly recommended: Hands down, KENYA!
Over the years, I've called several areas home, including Albany, Hartford, New Haven, and now Cincinnati, which is a pretty nice place to call home. And pretty: besides the gorgeous Ohio River, it's every bit as green and hilly as our native NA. Currently, I live just across the River from Cincinnati in the very friendly and very beautiful state of Kentucky, along with my partner, Christopher. Park Hills is your typical (and typically named) suburban little slice of heaven.
Heading back to school - guess we're never really finished. In August 09 I'll be taking classes toward teacher certification.
