Today's Featured Biography
Cynthia Neal
I have lived in Rhode Island since graduating from U.Mass-Amherst. Masters degree from R.I. College. Taught Health and PE for 30 years in a public high school.
Retired in 1997 and took a new job as Athletic Director at St. Mary Academy-Bay View. Love the job! Have been elected to many sports-related Halls of Fame including the NE England Basketball Hall of Fame; RI
Interscholastic League Hall of Fame; New Agenda Northeast-Women In Sport Hall of Fame;
Named by the Providence Journal as one of the
100 most influential people in sports in RI for the past century. Still downhill skiing
although only on the "greens" these days.
Also kayak, sail, bike, and love to travel.
Have been to Paris (twice), England, and most
of Europe. Took a girls basketball all-star
team to a tournament in Ireland.
Own my own home in RI and visit my mother on a regular basis. She still lives in Falmouth and is 95. Sister Carolyn lives in Pocasset. Big Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots and Bruins fan. Love the theater as well and live
concerts!
Looking forward to seeing some of our classmates who did not attend the 40th at the Falmouth Yacht Club!
Sad to report that my mother died, unexpectedly, on July 8, 2010.
Update:
Since my last reunion attendance I have retired from Bay View Academy. Still active as RI Interscholastic League Girls Basketball Director. Have started taking piano lessons and I love it!
Just recently returned from Greenville, South Carolina where I attended the SEC Women's Basketball Championships. Great fun! Greenville is a very cool, small city!
