Today's Featured Biography
Susanna Bower Kramer
Married for 32 years, 4 children (Matthew 29, Jeffrey 23, Stephen 20 and Sarah 17) and one grandson, 8 months. Was a stay-at-home mom for 17 years, started substitute-teaching when the youngest started kindergarten. Three years later, began full-time as a Special Education classroom aide, a job that I considered more of a calling or a mission - absolutely loved it! I was forced to leave my job last December, due to ongoing back problems. I was crushed. However I was to find my new calling quickly, when our grandson was born in February. We soon discovered that he would need us to take care of him on a full-time basis. Not what I expected to be doing in my late 50's, but a job for which I am well suited.
I have stayed involved with singing throughout my years, mostly church choirs. The past 13 years, my husband and I have been greatly involved in the North East Texas Choral Society, a group of 100 singers based in our small city of Sulphur Springs, TX. We have managed to bring a touch of culture to our little corner of the the world, and have had a great deal of fun in the process.
We have been very active members of our churches through the years, singing in choir, teaching Sunday School and VBS. This past year our family had a new adventure: we hosted a lovely girl from Brazil, as a foreign exchange student. My daughter, being the only girl in the family, loved having a sister. They really miss each other now! Yay for Skype!
