Today's Featured Biography
John Huntzinger
I started selling Seed for Gutwein Hybrids in High School. By the time I graduated Purdue in Agricultural Engineering in 1984, my Seed Dealership was the largest in Gutwein's Company. Out of college, I continued selling seed for Gutwein and worked for my father in the farming and Real Estate Development Business. In 1986, I was hired by Gutwein as a District Sales Manager. In 1992 I began working for National Starch and Chemical as their Waxy Seed Specialist. When National Starch sold their seed division to Dekalb in 1996, I began working again as a District Sales Manager for Gutwein Hybrids. When Gutwein sold to Garst in 1998, I worked as a District Sales Manager for Gray's Seed, and started independently selling Farm Herbicides. In 2005, I took my Farm Herbicide Company Nation wide, and my Farm Herbicide Business grew tremendously. I still sell seed for Seed Consultants and Becks Hybrids, but now the emphasis of my business is Herbicides. I was married in 1989, had 3 Wonderful kids, Brad 28, Brian 26 and Blake 23, and divorced from my first wife in 2005. Married again 2012 to my current wife, Bogie, who is an Emergency Room Doctor at Community South in Indianapolis. Love my wife, enjoy my business, and enjoy life. Love travel, snow skiing, scuba diving and water skiing. I competed Nationally in water skiing from 1984 to 2005. Distance Jumping was my specialty, and I consistently jumped over 150 feet for many years off the ski jump in competition. My Indiana State Waterski Overall Record I set in 1997, was broken 20 years later in 2017, but stood untouched for two decades. When I was 26 years old, I built Champion Lake in McCordsville, IN, and that lake produced 4 Waterski National Champions, and the current World Record Holder in Slalom skiing since 2013, Nate Smith. I have lived in Pendleton and McCordsville Area since college, and currently live on Geist Reservoir.
