Larry Schaab
After CC went on to IU and graduated in 1966. Went straight in the Army with a contract to attend OCS and graduated a year later and a lieutenant , spent two years in Germany got married to Karin a German national. Then went to Viet Nam as an advisor to South Vietnamese army. Left the service as a Captain in 1970 after four years. After the service joined Central Soya Company and worked a few years in the US and then moved to Europe in 1974 .
Had a long and interesting career, mostly in Europe, having lived in France, Belgium , Germany , and the last 24 years in The Netherlands. In 2002 I lead a group mangers in a takeover of our business, and together with two private equity firms, we had a successful investment. We sold the business in 2008 and I retired soon after. Last year, 2011, the business was sold again, this time to Cargill, and I advised them on the transaction.
I have been married twice, first to Karin , the mother of my first two kids, and now to Eugenie, a Dutch National, the mother of my two younger kids.
I have remained in Europe where 3 of of my 4 kids live and have made The Netherlands my home. I speak with reasonable fluency 5 languages, enjoy travel around the world , and have various hobbies, owning and driving old sport cars is a passion . Last year in 2011, I drove a newly restored 1967 Austin Healey around the USA for 6000 miles, a great trip.
