Today's Featured Biography
Karen Carpenter Krajic
Hi Everyone,
Can't believe the last time I saw anyone was at the 25th reunion. So to catch up --I was married just a year after high school and started raising a family, Pam, born in 1960, Mary Jane in '61 and Tom in '66. Then in 1982 I became a single Mom and went to work at Mark Shale in the Woodfield Mall for about 10 years.
In 1991 I bought a B & B in Woodstock, Il and became an innkeeper. It was great fun. I had guests from all over the world. Who would've thought in the little town of Woodstock. I had people from the movie co. of "Ground Hog Day" with me for 3 months while it was in production.
While there I remarried and then in Dec of '95 my husband, Ed, retired and we moved to Fl. It took about 1 yr to get used to living in the south and about 5 yrs to learn how to garden down here. It is like living in Australia, you plant petunias in Nov.
I joined a wonderful women's club when we moved here and besides being very social we also raise $$ for scholarships and local charities. I started a little business faux painting and murals to keep myself out of mischief. It is also nice to be able to swim and bike ride all year round and have recently started kayaking.
We have been able to do quite a bit of traveling over the last several years including 3 trips to France and Italy.
Let me tell you about my grandsons, between us we have seven, five of which are mine. Lee, 18 is my daughter Mary Jane's son. My son, Tom and his wife, Diane, have two boys, Jake and Zachary. My daughter, Pam, and her husband, Jerome, have two boys, Michael and Alphie. They are adorable and the light of my life.
One more thing, my Mother lives near me and is in her own condo just a few miles from me. She is now 97 and going strong. So I spend a couple of days a week with her and do lunch or shopping or whatever comes up.
That's all folks. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. K

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
