Today's Featured Biography
Deborah Hinshaw Mehlberg
I married Steven L. Mehlberg, I have two children Dimitria and Damon and six grandchildren, Donovan, ALejandro, Lilyana and Isadora (Isa) and Natalia(five living) Devon died in 2001 from Dextromethorphan Intoxication (Childrens Cough Medicine bought over the counter)
Dimitria graduated from Central Catholic and married soon after and started having babies. She and her husband have provided me with the joy of being Nana and my husband Papa. They own a landscaping business.
Damon, a superior fullback, played all four years in college, for the University of Wisconsin and for Eureka College where he graduated with a double degree in Psychology and Sociology. He has been invited to combine twice, but has no interest in playing for the NFL. (No matter what I say) Think of the fringe benefits he could have had. (LOL) Damon Joined the Army 2013 as an Engineer.
Steve and I are still married and still live in Bloomington.
I was awarded with being listed as 100 people that have changed the world by Louise Farr in Ladies Home Journal in 2008 for my work in getting Dextromethorphan outlawed in the State of Illinois (House Bill 4300) and in working with the FDA to remove Childrens Cold Medicines for 6 years and under removed from being offered over the counter.
I returned to college after my children were in school and became a Technical Engineer. I worked at State Farm for 14 years as an external.
My husband Steve "The Harp" is a Member of the Blues Hall Of Fame and after retiring from the Normal Fire Department, works full time with his band Steve "The Harp" Blues Band. I sing and play percussion in his band and we travel quite a bit touring and playing the Blues. Our album Back In The Blues debuted at #15 on the charts.
I own two businesses, DSM Web Design and Bluesman Records LLC, music, event and entertainment productions.
I own Ain't Nothin But The Blues Festival www.aintnothinbuttheblues.com
