Instructor, Thornton Junior College, Harvey, IL. I tried to dodge the draft with a teaching contract. Mrs. Reif at the draft board in Wheaton said I could finish my contract, but don't sign another!
1969-1973
S-7 Division Officer, United States Navy – USS Independence, CVA62, Norfolk VA
1970
Married Carol Grace Topel in Chicago, IL.
No children. I have enough trouble being responsible for myself!
1973-1985
Director of Management Information Systems, The parker Pen Company, Janesville, WI
1985-1992
Manufacturing Manager, SSI Technologies, Janesville Wisconsin
1992
Retired. I always said, save your money and invest wisely!
2004
Ran against Paul Ryan as an independent in Wisconsin’s first congressional district.
Received 1% of the vote.
The next day a “friend” said I should demand a recount.
2006
Wrote and self published “The Park” A history and stories about Peninsula State Park, ISBN: 0-9785293-0-8. Second Best seller in Door County, WI in 2006 (Passtimes Books, Sister Bay, WI.)
2015
First edition of "The Park" 2,400 copies sold out. Published Second edition, a revised and enlarged compliment to the first edition.
Present .
Still married to my first wife, Carol.
We live on a 115 acre farm just outside of Orfordville, Wisconsin. Actually, the farm is now only 40 acres. We donated 75 acres to the Parkview School District in Orfordville and are now restoring those acres as a prairie preserve.
Sad/depressing to see so many names on the deceased list. Peace.
