Today's Featured Biography
Mary Gempeler Warren
Hello Classmates! I’ve lived in Wisconsin since 1970; Eau Claire, where I was a bank teller prior to my older daughter’s birth, Wausau where I was an Allstate insurance agent for 17 years after my divorce, in Middleton for 15 years where I was a retail auditor for American Girl, and Mercer …Loon Capital of the World, since 2015 where my husband of 22 years and I have retired. I have been a loon ranger for our lake for the past eight years reporting ice out, when loons arrive and leave, and nestings/successful hatches to Loonwatch.org out of Ashland.
I am active in our lake association, the Historic Ironwood (Michigan) Theatre, and life in general. I enjoy genealogy, traveling, kayaking, snowshoeing, reading, and time with family and friends. I have been able to track the Gempeler family back to the 1500’s, met cousins in Switzerland and hiked the Gempele section of an alp, and tracked my husband’s family back to Scotland where we have stayed in what was the family castle.
We are fortunate to have our daughters and their families all living in Wisconsin. We enjoy seeing them when their schedules permit and celebrate our Christmas with all of them in August ….when we can get them out of the house and into the lake. Life is good! Looking forward to the reunion!
