Today's Featured Biography
Dean McMartin
Following high school I attended Brown Institute for broadcasting. In 1977 I began a more than 20 year run on the radio across the country. Starting in Oklahoma with stops in Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and then finishing my career in Sioux Falls for the Results Radio Group. My wife and I will celebrate 30 years together in April 2012. Our oldest son Devon got married in April 2006 to his high school sweatheart Amanda, they currently live in Canton, SD with there 1 year old daughter Addison. My daughter Alayne got married in April 2005, even before that she successfully delivered twin baby girls in December 2004,she and her husband Chris and the twins Elizabeth and Alissa live in Sibley, IA. Our youngest son Logan graduated from West Lyon, in 2009. He played football, wrestled(his true love) ran track until he was diagnosed with rhuematoid arthritis at the end of his Sophomore year. In 2011 he graduated from Northwest Community College in Sheldon with a degree in welding. He has a son Landon who is 3 in 2012. Kim works for the Larchwood Quick Stop and I am employed at Fastek Products in Canton where I run an injection molding machines making window parts out of plastic for the last 10 years. I was involved in a local Television show covering area racing events. I am currently the announcer for the fastest growing go kart series in all the country, the Chasen Racen Illustrated Pro Kart Tour. Kim and I travel from coast to coast with this series year round, and the series is expanding with 4 races in the midwest. In 2007 I was inducted into the National Speedway Partnership's Hall of Fame. In 2008, I returned to the position of track announcer with the South Dakota Kart Club racing in Brookings when I'm not traveling with the national series. We love watching both my sons and son-in-law race during the summer.
