Nyla Wooledge Shireman

July 5, 2014
I lived in central Iowa until January 2012 when we moved to North Carolina. My husband is the manager of the Carolina Adventist Christian Book Store. I left a full-time job with Principal Financial Group where I worked in Corporate Treasury. Now I work as needed at the book store creating marketing materials and working on other computer related projects.
Stan's father from Iowa lives with us so I spend much of my time caring for his needs. The rest is divided amongst yard work, 3.5 acres to mow, and our large garden. Gardening in the Carolinas is a year-round venture. Everything is red clay here so when I see the freshly plowed Iowa loam I almost cry!
My oldest daughter and grandson live near us in Charlotte, NC. Most of the children and grandchildren are in Iowa. One son is in Illinois and my youngest daughter, Jane, moved to San Diego after graduating from the University of Iowa Dental School. We will be attending her wedding out there in September.
Greetings to all of my classmates. I drive past West Lyon about once per year when I go to Sioux Falls to visit my mother. It would be great to see you again!
