I recently retired from the US Postal Service and am currently spending my time watching over my 4 granchildren, Madison(10),Connor(8), Alec (6) and Xander(6). Now that they are all in school I have started watching my Nephew's 2 children, Carter (3) and Chloe (1). My daughter Jackie recently got engaged, her wedding will be in September 2014 so I wouldn't be surprised if my grandmother duties begin again in the near future!
I worked for 25 years at the Post Office plus put in some time as a sewer for Flexsteel, a bus cleaner for Iowa Coaches, a certified Nurse's aide at various nursing homes here in Dubuque and various jobs at Medical Associates. I have lived in Owego, New York, Cedar Falls, IA and here in Dubuque since graduation. I highly recommend retirement to all my classmates. I love to hear from old classmates and catching up on where they have gone and what they became when they "grew up".
Being retired allows me time for creative endeavors, I love crocheting and crafting in general.
Update: it is now 2019 and my number of grandchildren has grown to 6, I have added my daughter’s youngest 2. William who is 3 and Simon who is 1. Still enjoying being a full time Grandma. My youngest son, Scott was married 2 years ago so there is a good chance I will be adding more to the grandchildren number!
Update June 2025 The number of my grandchildren has increased by 1, my daughter and her husband have had their 4th son, Oliver who is now 4 1/2. That makes my grand total 7 grandkids, 1 girl and 6 boys. Hope to see everyone at our 50 reunion this year!
