I attended the University of Iowa as a journalism major. Impatient with school after two years, I moved to Minneapolis to pursue a writing career and enjoy outdoor Minnesota. For the next 13 years, I lived in Colorado, and then mostly in Sacramento, California where I worked in marketing communications.
Eager to complete my degree, I started taking classes again. I liked trail running and equine endurance events.
In 1996, I moved with my horse to mountain town Prescott, Arizona. There I got into road bike cycling (cheaper than horses) and worked with a group to get the bike lanes and routes that I appreciated in California.
My career in student services started at Yavapai College in Prescott in 1998. I got my Masters degree at Northern Arizona University in 2003, and met my husband Tom and his four- and six-year-old boys in 2004.
We married in 2008 and life raced by with boy and family activities - fencing, mountain bike racing, music lessons, camping, traveling and more.
Today, our family still shares a love of mountain biking and other outdoor activities. Both boys are healthy, brand new grown-ups and a delight to be with. In these later years, I'm retired and Tom is doing some consulting. We spend time: traveling with our Casita travel trailer and bikes; reading; going on daily walk/hikes; and hobbies - for Tom it's learning Spanish and the bass ukulele, for me it's weaving. Pickle Ball's on the list, too.
Our one last adventure? Tom and I just moved to Eugene, Oregon and are campaigning heavily to get our "boys" here.
I am really looking forward to hearing about YOUR adventures, dear Mustang classmates! (And Mary Sweeney - see YOU on the Conga Line!)

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
