Today's Featured Biography
Sharlene Pariseau Thomas
Stay tuned!
I'm one of the lucky ones. I've had an exciting, good life, that has allowed me to try out different dreams and discover how I truly wanted to spend my late years.
Graduated in 1959, married Lloyd Thomas in 1963, and widowed in 1981. He was my best friend and we romped and frolicked, and sailed, up and down the East Coast. One is sort of prepared for the death of a spouse; never prepared for the loss of a best friend.
My second daughter Susan lived to her 20th year when she passed in 1987 from Ewing's Sarcoma. I had just met her as the woman she would be when she was, just . . . gone. I hate that disease.
Oldest daughter Tracie lives 20 minutes away and is the apple of my eye. Has become such a wonderful woman and delightful friend.
My Gentleman Caller and I just celebrated 20 years of unmarried bliss, and I pray he will continue to be a part of my life for many years to come.
For the past seven years I've developed a passion for solar cooking and bringing this wonderful FREE method of preparing meals for the mainstream cook, through workshops, demonstrations, and my latest invention, The SolarChief, a solar oven I designed spcifically for the mainstream home owner. It is manufactured here in NC and, as soon as my pat.pend. number comes through, it'll be available to the masses.
Have been an entrepreneur all my working life and earned additional income through performance and acting.(Look for me [old lady with marcelled hair] as the secretary to the Commissioner with George Clooney, et al, in Leatherheads. Please don't check for popcorn or you'll miss me.) My local friends know me as the deaf lady on TV. It's great fun and certainly makes life interesting.
Sometimes, it feels as though I've lived my life in a John Jakes' novel. But, I'm going to be in the ground for a long, long, time and want to take advantage of whatever life brings me for as long as possible.
I'm definitely looking forward to meeting you all, again, at the reunion.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
