Karel (Lynne) Swygert McSeaton

Hey everybody! I cannot believe it has been 40 years! Wow! Time certainly does fly when you're having fun!

I have one son, Michael Scott, born in 1971, who, of course, is my pride and joy. He lives in Mesa, Arizona, about 25 miles from me. He graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelors degree in justice studies, and he is going back to work on his masters degree in January 2010.

I lived in Bradenton and Myakka City and worked as a legal secretary at various law firms (except for the few years I worked at Marsh Auto Glass), until I moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1993. I lived in Atlanta and worked as a legal secretary there until I moved to Flagstaff, Arizona in the summer of 2001. I freaked out after I saw the most snow I ever saw in my whole entire life (6 inches) and moved to Phoenix (where it does not snow) in January of 2002. I lived in Central Phoenix until 2006, when I moved out here to San Tan Valley, formerly known as part of Queen Creek, which is approximately 45 miles southeast of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

Within the first six months of moving to Phoenix, an opportunity I couldn't pass up arose to be paid while being trained to become an electronic court reporter and transcriptionist and work from home as an independent contractor. I then became a traveling electronic court reporter and did transcription work when I was home. I decided that I really, really liked the commute from the coffee pot to my back bedroom/home office and making my own work hours, so I gave up the court reporting after a couple years and began transcribing from my home office full time.

I now own a court transcription business and have several independent contractors working for me...and we all work from home. I specialize in transcribing digitally recorded criminal court hearings and interviews of suspects, witnesses and victims (if they are still alive) in serious crimes ranging anywhere from drug smuggling to rape, child molestation and murder.

I live in a nice, quiet golf course community in the middle of nowhere in the desert, make my own work hours and work from home. Moving to AZ was definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am loving life and feel I am very, very blessed.
