Melody Tally
Tales of a Nomad
I attended University of Pittsburgh for my freshman year in the Fall of 1996 with the intent of pursuing a career in Mechanical Engineering. I did one year in that hellhole and promptly transferred to North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC. I graduated in the Fall of 2000 with my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering after doing some ojt and plenty of play in The Big Easy, New Orleans, LA. After graduation I returned to DC and began working as a consultant with American Management Systems in Fairfax, VA. The job was 100% travel and I absolutely HATED IT--quite possibly because I ventured to such wonderful and exciting places as Cincinnati, OH. I was almost laid off in July and found another position within the company so I was spared. This new job required me to move to Atlanta, GA and I'd be in the office full time. My boss was a psycho micromanager and I ended up getting laid off four months later. I moved back to DC and began working a gov't job. Hated it. I left that job and moved to LA on a ten day stint which lasted 8 months. You'd better believe I flipped the hell out of my wardrobe. The guy I was working with turned out to be a big, Big, BIG fraud who sold dreams and we subsequently parted ways in November of 2003. After lounging around my parents home for three months, I decided to return to Los Angeles and pursue my childhood dream of being an actress and become The Next Halle Berry-slash-Tyler Perry--because I love to write. I moved to LA in February of 2004 to work with a casting director on an experimental basis--meaning the internship was due to become permanent...and it didn't. I began my career as a serial temp employee in Los Angeles and it hasn't stopped since. I returned to Washington in Summer of 2005 and I'm currently working at The Mills Corporation, learning about retail REITs. I'm in a wedding on 08/04 so I won't be in attendance at the Reunion. Have fun, drink lots and take plenty of (blackmail) pix!
