Julie Vaughn Harris
Hello Banneker Alum:
A recent run-in with a former classmate in Home Depot inspired me to create a profile and attempt to do something I am horrible at - stay in touch with former friends!! I'm so sorry I missed our 20th Reunion a few years ago. I would have loved to have seen all of you. Well, let me catch you up on what's been happening since 1985.
I attended American University on a full scholarship and graduated in 1989 with a pre-law degree (I had every intention of becoming an attorney, but God had other plans for me). I did return to AU for my Masters in Public Administration.
I married my high school sweetheart, Andre Harris, 18 years ago this year and am proud to say that we're still very happily married. We've been blessed with two wonderful children, Ryan and Logan. I'm a busy wife, mother, member of the board of my children's school and active in my church.
I am a Senior Paralegal in the corporate section of a DC law firm, Dickstein Shapiro LLP. Andre is a Ground Operations Manager with Federal Express. Our oldest son, Ryan, is 13 and a budding tennis phenom. He's active on the USTA junior tournament circuit and is a straight A student (being recruited for tennis by Georgetown Prep). He's Andre Jr. in many, many ways. Our youngest son, Logan, is 5 and a budding soccer star (although that's subject to change). He's full of personality, smart and very charming. We have our hands full!!
Hope to see you all soon at our 25th reunion. We will not miss this one!
